An EYPer receives the Federal Medal of Merit!

An alumni of the European Youth Parliament has been selected to be honoured with the Federal Medal of Merit. On the occasion of the anniversary of the German Constitution Day (Verfassungstag), the President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is giving federal orders of merit to 24 people who have worked “for freedom, democracy and against right-wing extremism and violence”. Our very own Sophie Debrunner Hall is one of the two individuals from outside Germany who have been chosen to receive an award.

Nathan Hunter (UA) is an EYPer who has been fundraising more than 5,000€ per year for EYP through his company’s Social Responsibility Programme. Having finished his term as the president of Europe’s largest student-led policy institute, thriving as a trainer in the EYP, getting a first class honours from King’s College London, obtaining his MSc in HR Management, performing spoken word poetry for two TED talks, and completing Apple’s leadership program in their 8th largest store worldwide, Nathan is now a Global Trainer for Appian, a low-code business app development platform.
