The European Youth Parliament works to reach young people across Europe, bringing them together, while promoting the European dimension in education. This work requires considerable resources and is only possible thanks to the generous support of external organisations. A good project needs good partners – and we are grateful for their assistance.

The German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Auswärtiges Amt) has supported a number of sessions of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) and is one of its most important partners. Currently, the Federal Foreign Office supports the 80th International Session of the EYP in Leipzig,  the Baltic Forum of the EYP in Narva (Estonia) and our project BASES in the countries of the Eastern Partnership.

The European Union with its programme Erasmus+ is a key partner of the European Youth Parliament and supports several International Sessions of the European Youth Parliament in Izmir, Tampere, Dublin & Belfast and Rennes. In additional, the first EYP Summer Academy has been supported by the Erasmus+ programme.

Our Sessions regularly receive support from the European Commission. Currently, the the Commission supports the 80th International Session of the EYP in Leipzig.

Our Sessions regularly receive support by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. The European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe has also supported the European Youth Parliament with two financial assistance grants. All activities of the European Youth Parliament are under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

The Deutsche Sparkassen- und Giroverband (DSGV) and the European Savings Banks Group (ESBG) are Partners of the European Youth Parliament since 2011 and support especially the International Sessions.

Stiftung Mercator is a key partner of the European Youth Parliament since 2011 and is supporting the strategic development of the organisation.

In its field of focus, which embraces the Neurosciences, European Integration and Learning Democracy, the Hertie Foundation seeks to sound out new solutions and help towards their practical implementation. The Hertie Foundation sees itself as an initiator, actuating and triggering a dynamic process that subsequently allows the sponsored project to unfold and develop on its own. The Hertie Foundation is a partner of the European Youth Parliament in 2016.

The innogy Stiftung für Energie und Gesellschaft was a partner of the European Youth Parliament in 2013, supporting three International Forums of the EYP in Istanbul, The Hague and Essen and is now our main supporter for the project “Power Shifts – Reflecting Europe’s Energy” from 2015 to 2017. Throughout Europe it enables young people to monitor, inform themselves and debate about European energy policy. The project will focus on the diversity and interdependency of energy policy on the European level, while France, Poland and Germany will serve as national example cases.

Questions concerning refugees and migration have become a solid part of public debate since 2015, and will most likely continue to stay on the European political agenda. The European Youth Parliament works to bring European issues closer to young people, and in order to relate topics such as asylum and statelessness better to its participants, a new cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has been established for the international sessions in 2017 in Brno and Tbilisi, and 2018 in VIlnius and Rotterdam.
